Message the larger the mass at the tail end of the crankshaft, the more energy will be reflected back into the crank. A light flywheel will allow more of that energy to pass through the flywheel and to the drivetrain. Since the tranny has differing gear ratios, the level of tortion will vary as you go through the gears.
